Relative accuracy is the accuracy of a measuring instrument expressed in percentage. For eg: We have an instrument that measures the net displacement of an object about its mean position.Suppose the true value(as measured using a standard or calibrated instrument) is say x but the value measured using our instrument is say y. Then relative accuracy is defined as (y-x)/x. The absolute accuracy on the other hand is defined as the difference between measured value and the standard or true value. In the above example it would be y-x.
