Interests[edit]

I am currently a student studying ideology and empire. I am interested in the functioning of (settler-)colonialism, Western hegemony, and global capitalism. For this reason, I tend to edit articles related to politics and history (esp. Brazilian history, pre-Columbian history, general world history – I look at colonialism and political economy and the creation of modern national identity). I approach things through a decolonial lens and am also trying to do the smaller task of expanding on Indigenous naming conventions when applicable.

I am also interested in continental philosophy, although I am not as involved in maintaining these articles. When I am, it is usually related to Marxism, psychoanalysis, or critical theory.

I am a member of WikiProject Jazz, WikiProject Latin Music, and WikiProject Brazil with the Arts in Brazil task force. I focus on translating Portuguese articles (mostly about artists or musicians) into English.

As a former art student, I am interested in design and art history. Occasionally, I edit related articles, mostly outsider artists and sometimes architecture and typography.

I try to keep a balanced POV within popular articles which I feel often favor Western perspectives and sources. A large portion of my work is dedicated to the addition of opposing viewpoints.
