I have a professional background in computer software, and presently work in an Information Technology department at a Community College outside of Chicago, IL, USA. My first love is music, specifically rock, jazz, blues, and classical. I have sung, and played Steel Drums, and love many percussion things. I particular love guitar, although I never got very far with it myself. I am sort of a trivia buff, so would love to help contribute to Wikipedia in that way. I am one of 4 admins who blog for the Harper College Green Committee dealing with many things of a sustainable nature. I tend to think of myself as someone who can write, and promote things decently. I have a sometimes warped and sometimes juvenile sense of humor, leaning towards black humor. I am in my mid50's could technically retire from my job having been there 30 years, but actually am working on an MBA. I enjoy a certain amount of variety in life. I tend to like people into Psychology and self help, being positive, but not all new aging and stuff.

I use services such as Pandora, Last.fm, Turntable.fm, etc. to continue learning about music. I am a big fan of radio in general, today, and yesterday. I participated in some high school theater and music and community theater after high school. I like science fiction, or non-fiction in general, and to me there is nothing more valuable in my book collection that reference works and a few well-chosen classics. My wife works as a librarian at the local elementary school, while my sister works professionally at the public library in her town. Guess we're all just a bunch of reference geeks.
