Rafik Ferrag (/ˈfærrag/; born June 14, 1985) is a French Algerian Artist and Designer.
Early Life Rafik Ferrag was born on June 14, 1985, in Lille, to Algerian immigrant parents. His mother was a maid while his father was working 2 jobs, as a mechanics during the day and working at the Mines on night shift to be able to raise their 4 children. Ferrag move to Alger till the age of 3, then the family settled in Cambray, in the north of France in 1988.
Education He attended Lycée du Henault in Valenciennes, graduating in 2003.Pushed by his father who considered design as irrelevant to get a proper job, he studied during 2 years in IT at University of Valenciennes then drop out to follow his passion about design and entered school of Design Creapole located in Paris graduating in 2011 after concluding his internship for Citroen. While still not graduated, he published a few sketches on the internet and caught the eye of Honda Japan Design Director which offered him his first position as exterior designer based Tokyo, Japan.
Designer work Rafik Ferrag spent 5 years with Honda developing cars like Honda Fit and quickly promoted to senior designer at Honda concept studio patenting Honda new mobility concept in 2016[1].In April 2017, he joined XPeng (Xiaopeng Motors) a Chinese mobility startup financed by Alibaba & Xiaomi located in Guanzhou,China.Since then, he has led the firm to give birth to his first electric car to market, Xpeng P7 which was presented officially during 2019 Shanghai Auto show.
Artwork Rafik Ferrag is also a painter since the age of 3. He is featured to expose in Japan in October 2020.
