The Targed Initiative for Older Workers (TIOW) is a Government of Canada employment program intended to help older workers, aged between 55 and 64, who are unemployed. It is a cost shared partnership with the provinces and territories. The Federal government covers 70% of the costs and the provinces 30%. The program provides employment activities to help older workers in eligible communities so they can reenter the workforce. Examples of employment activities include skills upgrading and work experience.
The older worker
[edit]Older workers want to continue working longer than previously. Some express the concern that this makes it more difficult for young people to get jobs.[1]
