This page documents the thought process behind the creation and motivation of Guanzi (currency), this is something I had formerly done on either my user page here or on Wikimedia Commons but as I fear page blankings I prefer to work with sub-pages as INeverCry/Daphne Lantier deleted my Wikimedia Commons user page before re-creating it which shows that once they kick you off the project that they want to erase any history of your participation which is not only less than honest, but clearly designed to discourage users from ever returning.

While doing research for the article Chao (currency) I found a reference to Ulrich Theobald's ChinaKnowledge.de, a source that I had used prior in the article Western Xia coinage. While browsing information 🛈 on the history of Chinese paper currency I found this page which I had used as a source for minor expansions at Jiaozi (currency) and Huizi (currency). While initially I thought 💭 that the page only covered superficial information on these subjects until I found out that if I clicked on the links 🔗 that it brought me to more detailed pages, so I used these pages to greatly expand the aforementioned articles. After finding the more familiar Jiaozi and Huizi pages I found a lot shorter page on the Guanzi which I noticed didn't have an article on the English Wikipedia. As I started working on the article I started searching for other sources that covered the subject but found out that Ulrich Theobald's ChinaKnowledge.de is the only source that covers it in sufficient detail so I created an article that largely depended on a single source.

As I was busy in real life I quickly finished with the articles that already were on Wikipedia before going to create a new article. As I am mostly active on Wikimedia Commons, but will occasionally check back here and will expand articles or create new ones if I discover new sources. But if I'm inactive for a long period of time it mostly means that I haven't found any sources to import information 🛈 from. But finding sources for this subject was akin to finding those for the aforementioned Western Xia coinage article.
