Ruth Nemzoff (1940-) is an American writer and legislator. She is a research scholar at Brandeis University's Women's Studies Research Center.[1] Nemzoff holds a B.A from Barnard College (1962), an M.A from Columbia University (1964), and an Ed.D from Harvard University (1979). Nemzoff is a former assistant minority leader of the New Hampshire legislature. In 1974, she became the first woman to serve while pregnant in a regular session in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, and in 1982 she became New Hampshire's deputy commissioner of health and welfare. In 1988, she co-founded the National Women's Legislators Lobby.[2]
