He was born on 12th December 1971 in village Kewal (Keol) district Sirsa Haryana. His father's name was Sardar Nathu Singh Cheema and his grandfather's name was Sardar Kishan Singh Cheema. He came from his elder village Cheema Sunam and settled in village Kewal. According to the opinion of some scholars, his lineage is considered to have originated from the Cheema, Chauhan dynasty. Village Kewal is known as Kewal in the Punjabi mother tongue area. At the time of birth, the family was very poor. You passed your education till tenth standard in the village school.
