His Philosophy
He is a "pragmatist" and "humanist", who believes in the dignity of mankind , freedom of speech and scientific temper. He thinks that it is not lack of punishment for bad deeds but lack of appreciation of good things is main cause of social problems. Forget helping others, society can be changed if people avoid harming others (except that law enforces) and try to achieve their ambition by fair means. Wealth creation is not important now as there is enormous wealth in world but it is cornered by few leading to rampant inequality and impoverishment of many. People die not only due to undernourishment but due to overeating too. Amount of foods over consumed or wasted by rich can eliminate hunger in world if preserved.
As natural resources is not infinite, so higher growth will not feasible after some years. Scientist should think some alternative. GDP growth is not solution but distribution of wealth (already created) is vital. Too much of stress on GDP will lead to rapid depletion of natural resources, environmental degradation, escalation of temperature, and thereby imperiling the lives of posterity and endangering the very existence of this beautiful earth. The imperative of time is giving more weightage to simple life style replete with peace, happiness, morality but bereft of jealousy, ego, greed and vindictiveness.
Preventing wastage of energy or ensuring conservation energy, resources like water, electricity, mineral resources etc is equivalent to creation of new energy for future. Though, it may have some negative problem, curbing population growth- even dragging population growth to negative realm is need of hour to save this planet and human civilization from impending extinction. Government should take care of older generation. Nobody is going to see or rejoice our achievements, laurels, if there will be no human being in this earth.
