Snyder Avenue is a major east-west arterial in South Philadelphia which is the location of the famous Melrose Diner at its intersection with Passyunk Avenue.[1] South of Snyder Avenue was the location of many Jewish families after World War I and defined the majority of Philadelphia's Jewish sector by the 1940s, with few north of it.[2] At the intersection with Broad Street, there is a Broad Street subway line subway stop, known as the Snyder Avenue station.
