Who is Alan?
[edit]The true thing is, no one actually knows who Alan is. The legend goes, back in the 80s a man called Alan became lost in the Silverstone GP camping fields. Alan began shouting a name of his friends so he could make it back to his tent. It seems to have made it into the campsites of music festivals but no one knows really knows the origins.
Why is this shouted?
[edit]No one actually knows why Alan's name is shouted, people shout it late at night in the campsites and it echoes around the area as people join in the clamour to find ALan.
How it works
[edit]It has became a ritual to shout "Alan" whilst in the camping areas of the Silverstone Circuit. If someone shouts it you must shout back at the top of your lungs "Alan" or "Steve".
