Alon Ushpiz (Born in February 7, 1966) is an Israeli Diplomat, currently serving as the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel. He served before as the ambassador of Israel to India.
Biography
[edit]Ushpiz was born in Israel and was educated in the Hebrew Reali School. He served in the Israel Defense Forces until 1987. In 1992 he finished his degree in International relations and Japanese learnings in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel. In 1999 he was appopinted adviser to then Minister of foreign affairs Shlomo Ben-Ami. In July 2011 he was appointed ambassador of Israel to India.
In June 2020 the government of Israel voted for his nomination to Director General of the Israeli ministry of foreign affairs.
Ushpiz is married and a father of two.
