Eastwick College and the HoHoKus Schools consists of six schools located in the northern New Jersey area, owned and operated by Eastwick Education.

History

[edit]

The story of Eastwick Education started in 1985, with the establishment of HoHoKus School in 1985 (now Eastwick College) in the town of Ramsey, NJ. Originally located in a small building on main street before moving to its current location on Franklin Turnpike, the school was the first post-secondary school in Ramsey to offer career training for medical and business occupations.

Eastwick expanded significantly in the 1990's, opening the HoHoKus RETS/Nutley in 1995, the HoHoKus Hackensack School in 1996, and the HoHoKus School at Bergen Regional Medical Center in 1999. These additions expanded the schools' curriculum to include computer and electronics technology as well as additional medical and business programs.

In 2005 the HoHoKus School of Trade was established, bringing unique trade and construction programs to Eastwick. Workstations were designed to allow students hands-on training, including housing units complete with electrical and plumbing connections.

In recent years Eastwick has made state history---in 2008 Eastwick College earned accreditation from the NJ Department of Education, earning the school its current name (previously HoHoKus School of Business and Medical Sciences), and allowing for specialized medical associate degrees. In 2009 the HoHoKus Hackensack School worked with the Hispanic Institute to develop the first bilingual hispanic nursing program in the state to meet the dire need for nurses able to communicate with Spanish-speaking patients.
