Wojciech Krzysztof Nowacki (22 February 1938 - 14 August 2009) was a polish physicist and director of the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Prof. Nowacki studied in the Cyvil Engineering Department at the Warsaw Politechnic. He received his Ph.D. in 1961 from Institute of Fundamental Technological Research, Polish Academy of Sciences. He joined the institute in 1965. He conducted research and was an expert in waves propagation in non-elastic solids, thermo-mechanical coupling in dynamic plasticity, and experimental methods in material dynamics and impact. His publications include onver 170 articles and three books.
In 2009 he presided over the opening of the new building of the Institute after contributing to its design and overseeing its construction.
