5V of Big Data

[edit]

Data can be marked as big data as long as it has 4 required features: Velocity, volume, variety and veracity. When this 4 existing features become information, big data can have the 5th V which stands for Value. Value can be used for commercial or personal purposes.

Velocity

[edit]

Data's velocity is about the bits streaming for a time interval. One of the big data features is velocity. The data streams non-stop on big data and transfers lots of information in a short time range.

Volume

[edit]

Big data contains huge amount of time with no relevancy to the time variant. It holds colossal amount of data in any random moment. Having said that the big data mostly recieves the information from many differant users, it can also take it from one single source as well.

Variety

[edit]

Data can be in many shapes such as pictures, texts, graphics, audios, videos etc. Big data has information in different formats.

Veracity

[edit]

One of the features of the intormation in big data is that they are not stabil values. The data can change, disappear, expand or reduced. This changes in data makes it harder to store and keep it secure.

Value

[edit]

When a data has all 4 features above, it becomes ready to get value about. Value is what makes the big data important.
