Emmanuel Ato Yamoah is the founder and Director of Africa Online Volunteering Service.( http://africaonlinevolunteeringservice.com ) and Patriots Ghana Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.(www.patriotsghana-knust.webs.com) chapter. The Africa Online Volunteering Service is a not for profit initiative with the director in Ghana,With 60 volunteers from 17 different countries in the world, 6 ambassadors in African countries, a programs manager in the UK, a pending communications manager in Canada and registered organizations across Africa.Our mission is to ensure that everyone especially young people in Africa that have the privilege of access to a computer and the internet can make good use of it to give back to our beloved continent and can access a wide range of opportunities to develop themselves.Our desire is to provide a better alternative where young people would not only use the internet for video games, pornography, internet fraud, or irrelevant social media engagements but use it as a resource to develop ourselves and society.We also have the vision of providing underprivileged and marginalized groups of young people in Africa that do not have access to ICT’s the opportunity to learn and be empowered. Furthermore, the AOVS team would also be embarking on outreaches to schools and other social gatherings to educate and enlighten as many as possible on the benefits of ICT’s, and civic engagement. Our aim is to leverage ICT’s for development while identifying appropriate indicators which can be measured effectively with ICT support through virtual volunteering etc.Patriots Ghana Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (www.patriotsghana.org)is a youth volunteering and social services organization. With my chapter I have championed various projects and events such as reproductive health, High School Mentoring and the I am Star Projects. The major achievements for the chapter so has been providing the people of Yamoah Nkwanta with potable water(borehole), establishing an ICT center in Aboabogya, providing sustainable support for the Deduako Special Vocational School for intellectual disabilities, and implementing various youth empowerment projects in the Ashanti region of Ghana. I was one of the five member team of local and international volunteers that piloted the tuberculosis project in the Awutu Senya District with Cheerful Hearts Foundations.(www.cheerfulheartsfoundation.org) and the Supervisor of the youth education and outreach fellowship. I am one of the volunteers and member of the pilot team with Beyond the Pivot, an NGO from Hong Kong University that embarks on projects on latrine construction, public health education, teaching etc.( http://hibtp.org/) for GO2A 2014. I volunteered with CLED GHANA (www.cledghana.com) to conduct a research and seek solutions to children with learning disabilities and hate crime in the Awutu Senya District. With the United Nations Online Volunteers platform, I have volunteered with the Center for Batwa Minorities (Uganda) and Organization for Abused and Battered Individuals (O.A.B.I-Trinidad and Tobago). I am reporter for Awake Africa Magazine (www.awakeafrica.org ) and in addition to general reports and articles, I make publications on all voluntary and social services activities. I hold certificates from United States Institute Of Peace in Conflict Analyses, Interfaith Conflict Resolution , and Negotiation and Conflict Management, Also from IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre I have certificates in Costing Sustainable Services Modules 1,2 and 3 and then from Solar Energy International, a certificate in Introduction to Renewable Energy. I also took a course from the World Bank Institute in Reproductive Health-From Advocacy to Action and used the knowledge I gained to initiate a reproductive health project with Patriots Ghana.
