Tan Eng Tong is the co-founder and CEO of Cytron Technologies. He started his robotic journey in 2003 with a team of aspiring undergraduates who represented their university in a robotic competition, which in turn sparked their passion and entrepreneurial spirits. Established in late 2004, Cytron developed various kinds of training kits, development boards, electronics modules to facilitate makers, researchers and engineers in their robotic related projects.

rero: The modular robotics system that allowed students to build different kind of robot model in the blink of eyes.

In hope of inspiring and nurturing younger generations into technology leaders, Eng Tong then led the team to develop a kid’s friendly robotic kit, rero, that was launched in early 2015 as ASEAN's first educational robotic kit. rero, a robotic kit that allows everyone to build their own robot.

In additional to his own company, Eng Tong is also one of the founding member of Malaysia IoT Consortium (MYIOTC) which aims to build a sustainable IoT’s ecosystem in Malaysia to benefits the local companies. He was also the former speaker in TEDx Petaling Street (2015), CES (2017) and TEDx UTP (2018) sharing his knowledge and experience in maker industry as well as entrepreneurship.
