User:Eolais/Dissolution of the Parliament of the United Kingdom

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For a general election to take place in the United Kingdom, the dissolution of Parliament must take place 25 working days prior to polling day as determined by the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011.[1] Prior to the passing of the act, parliament needed to be dissolved 17 working days prior to polling day; the new 25 day intermediary period took effect from the 2015 election.
