2016- Present[edit]
Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) continues to have clients and the website big.dk[1] maintains recent projects accessible to the public. Since the year 2016, BIG have had 67 projects. Some are still in production while others like the Serpentine Pavilion have been completed. Bjarke Ingels Group currently has 57 ideas for projects, 28 projects still in progress, 18 that are under construction, and 48 projects that have been completed to this day[1]. Many of Bjarke's ideas revolve around utilizing cheap materials and still achieving spaces in which the public can use as a gathering space, shop, work, and live in. One of their ambitious ideas for a project is the Lego Towers in Denmark. He wants to incorporate these buildings into organic architecture. By fusing the skyscrapers and antique buildings from the 18th century with spires, Bjarke came to a conclusion of having box like structures stacked on top of one another. This creates a pixelated look to the site and yet futuristic. The towers rise at different altitudes to form a sense of spires to be seen from a distance. With that thought process, the Lego Towers can appear as if it is truly part of past architecture already present in the city.[1]
