The Battle of Nui Le. Dear Wikipedia: Regrettably, in late 2016 some Australian Vietnam veterans began to amend accounts of the Battle of Nui Le - including: increasing the size of the NVA force (ie elements of the 33rd NVA Regiment), stating that the 33rd's mission was to attack Australian forces - or even attack the Nui Dat base itself. However, the HQ and 1/33rd Battalion actually moved south out of Long Khanh Province to avoid the operations of the US 3rd Brigade (Separate) of the 1st Air Cavalry Division (Airmobile); accounts have also claimed that the CO of 33rd Regiment and/or the CO of 3/33rd Battalion were killed in the engagement (However, I have post-War photos of both Nguyen Van Thuong and Trieu Kim Son). I have explained to these Australian Vietnam veterans that I consider their "revised" and inaccurate accounts are but "tendentious revisionism". Following my interviews in Vietnam and email exchanges with 33rd Regiment veterans (beginning in 2008 - including with the 33rd Regiment Veterans' Association) - and access to Australian SIGINT reporting, I wrote and published: Chamberlain, E.P., The 33rd Regiment – North Vietnamese Army: Their Story (and the Battle of Binh Ba – 1969), 2014 (ISBN 978-0-9750350-5-4) - 128,000 words with maps, photographs, index etc. Subsequently, this year (2017)- following the publication by the 33rd Regiment of its history in 2016, I wrote and published: Chamberlain, E.P., The 33rd Regiment (North Vietnamese Army): Their History (1965 – 1989) (including the Battles of Binh Ba - 1969 and Nui Le - 1971) – 2016.
