Musical Background[edit]

I’ve always been surrounded by music. Growing up, my father was a pastor at a Korean Presbyterian Church so music, especially gospel, was always around the house. People told me I had a good voice so that was the thing to do. I sang wherever I could, whether it was in the car, in the shower, in the mall. I did couple competition here and there but it was when I came to study Jazz at Berklee College of Music that I really fell in love with the art of singing Jazz

Musical Outlook[edit]

Encountering something unfamiliar intrigues our curiosity. Our senses are heightened due to the unknown, our minds are alert in order to prepare for what’s to come. Music has a majestic way of intriguing our curiosity and heightening our senses. When we are introduced to new music, it never sounds quiet the same even if it is of the same genre. It often stirs up a reaction from the listener; there are dancers who portray their reaction through dancing, there are some who react by singing or playing, and there are those who react by creating. I want my music to be able to inspire others to get up out of their chairs and create something of their own.

My Music[edit]

I love to sing the standard jazz tunes but I also love singing be-bop as well. I like to re-arrange songs that are written by artists that I enjoy listening to.
