Nam June Paik Art Center's architectural design was recommended by the Union of International Artists (UIA) [5]in 2003 at an international competition involving 430 people.

It was designed jointly with Kristen Schemel, a young German architect who won the grand prize in the contest, and Marina Stankovic, the architect of the Berlin KSMS Shemel Stankovic's architectural office.

The art center features several layers of mirrors, consisting of an exhibition room, a video archive, and a multi-purpose space.

Museum Identity

Museum Identity

[edit]

The strange mathematical symbol used in the main logo of the Nam June Paik Art Center is a formula written in his work to commemorate his 54th birthday, which bears Paik's unique imagination and sense of humor.

The logo, which shows infinite variation and rotation when turning it over to a new question, captures the identity of Nam June Paik Art Center, which aims to become an experimental free space where questions are constantly

asked about any existing answer.
