Minami Aizawa (Japanese: 相沢みなみ, Hepburn Aizawa Minami Born June 14, 1996) is a Japanese AV idol, actress, and Gravure model. A prolific actress with well-known AV maker Idea Pocket for over 7 years. Appearing in nearly 200 titles. Winner of the Best Actress Award at the Fanza (DMM) Adult Awards in 2019.[1] [2]Her popularity extends beyond her homeland to across Asia and America.
Life and career
[edit]Born on May 24, 1988 in Hong Kong to Japanese parents. Her father's work took her family to the US in Orange County, Los Angeles. She spent about 7 years in America before returning to Japan to begin her primary education. An experience that lent her a conversational fluency in English.[3] In 2014 Minami was scouted for AV work while working as a sales clerk for a Shinjuku store. She was also a university student at the time, studying English Literature at Shinagawa's Seisen University.[4] A private Catholic liberal arts women's college. After a year of asking her to join Minami finally signed on with the AV agency Forty Four Management.
Her first title would be with well-known AV maker Idea Pocket during the AV Open industry event. Her debut was not very well received. She was not popular at the beginning and had to hold her own fan events by herself. Slowly and steadily she attracted more and more fans.[5] Three years later she would win the Best Actress Award at the 2019 Fanza Adult Awards.[6][7] Becoming one of the flagship actresses at Idea Pocket. Her success has been attributed with her English skills, fan interaction, and connection with overseas fans. On June of 2023 she announced her retirement in Taiwan while on a promotional event tour. She cited the death of her manager and scout as one factor into her making the decision.[8][9][10]
