A common Etherkiller design.

In theory, an etherkiller is an RJ-45 connecter spliced onto a standard power cord. The word is a portmanteau of the words Ethernet and killer. The first verifiable use of the term was in one of Simon Travaglia's 1994 Bastard Operator from Hell stories. [1]
