Autobiography and Wikipedia

[edit]

I just wanted to make you aware that Wikipedia, as a reference guide, has rather harsh strictures about autobiography and self-promotion (real or perceived). If impartial third parties believe that you are a notable person within your field, then congratulations! However, this is not a venue for mere posting of CVs or bibliographies of obscure academics. If you are genuinely notable, as others have said, then there should be articles in reliable sources such as the New York Times or Chronicle of Higher Education about you and your work, which can be cited in creating the article. Wikipedia is not an advertising service. Promotional articles about yourself or articles created as part of a marketing or promotional campaign, will be deleted in accordance with our deletion policies.
