Ben Pitchford is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Marcello Monteiro.(12) Ben started training in 2003 under Justin Morris and has dominated the local competition in various events such as Combat Corner, NAGA, and King Grappler in his home state of Wisconsin. Pitchford teaches at Unified Martial Arts in Fond du Lac WI, and fights under team Third Heaven/ Marcello Monteiro.(5,12)

Pitchford won Combat Corner 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12 in the lightweight nogi advanced division and is a 7 x King Grappler Champ in various divisions. (1,2,3,4) In 2009 Pitchford won NAGA midwest advanced nogi division by sumbitting all three opponents.(11,13) Pitchford medaled 3rd out of 31 at the 2009 Pan American purple belt featherweight division, and won gold at the 1st IBJJF Chicago Open brown belt featherwight division in 2010 and again in 2014.(10,9,14)

Pitchford has continued to improve his game by facing big names in pro events such as 2009 Grapplers Quest; losing to 27 x grapplers quest champ Bill Cooper in the opening round of the 1st World Series of Grappling by points.(6) Also facing BJJ legend Michel Langhi at 2009 Pan, and 2011 World. His biggest victory was against former WEC bantamweight champion Chase Beebe; when in 2005 Pitchford submitted Beebe by triangle choke early in the match.(7)
