Mbuso Sikhumbuzo Fortune Shumba, better known as Fortune Shumba, is a South African musician who was born and raised in a small "township" within Nelspruit, in the Mpumalanga region of South Africa. He is a vocalist and songwriter and has been active as a musician since 2013.

He has since released two projects namely: Dawn EP (2015) and Daylight EP (2016). His official first single "Free Heart" was released in 2015 and was featured heavily on local TV series "It's complicated". This introduced him to producer and drummer of South African rock indie band "The BLK JKS" Tshepang Ramoba who would later start producing for and managing him under his independent stable POST POST music. In 2016 Fortune went on to record the theme song of the second season of the same TV show and had music from his second EP Daylight also featured on that show again that same year.

2015- Dawn EP:

Comprising mostly of Alt R&B and Soulful songs with some tribal influences and often displaying a dark mood of loss and yearning, the EP was released independently on Fortune's Soundcloud account in April 2015 to good reviews from publications like Afropunk and OkayAfrica amongst others. As seen on several publications, Fortune stated during his interviews that he was going to be releasing a trilogy of EPs and Dawn would serve as the first instalment of said trilogy.

2016- POST POST summer tour, Sangoma initiation, Daylight EP & relocation.

Early 2016 Fortune went on an international tour with fellow African musicians Moonchild Sanelly, Robin Thirdfloor and ELO after the release of Dawn EP. Some stops on this tour included the House on Fire in Swaziland and an unofficial SXSW showcase at the SASXW at the Savannah lounge in Texas, USA.

Mid 2016 Fortune started working on his second project, an EP mostly made up of World Music and ambient songs about self love and healing through song called Daylight. Around the same time he also began initiating as a Sangoma in his hometown of Nelspruit. Upon finishing recording his musical project, Fortune put his Sangoma initiation process on hold after three months of training in order to move to the city of Johannesburg in an attempt to further push his musical endeavours.

A music video for Fortune's first single off his Daylight EP, an alternative indie song called Daylight was uploaded in November 2016 and was premiered on international publication OkayAfrica along with an interview about his EP, Daylight in December. The EP had been made available on multiple digital platforms for streaming and purchase in October, 2016 by his then label, POST POST music.

Fortune had his national Television debut on SABC 1's live interractive Youth programme YoTV in early 2017 where he was interviewed about his musical journey amongst other things. Fortune performed his single Daylight later on, on the show. He also travelled back to the US in to play a few SXSW unofficial showcases including a spot at The Republiq Fest in Austin, Texas.

He is currently working on his third EP called Dusk EP which is due for a 2017 release.
