San Francisco Polytechnic High School Located at 701 Fredrick St., across from Kezar Stadium, Polytechnic High School began in 1884 in San Francisco. This secondary school was open for almost 90 years until the 1970s. Over that time the school had a reputation for a diverse and talented student body, inspirational teachers and administrators, and exceptional football teams. In the city championship game between San Francisco Polytechnic and Lowell High School in 1928, a crowd of over 50,000 people saw the match-up at Kezar Stadium. That game holds attendance records for a high school football game in northern California.

In 1987 the school property was re-zoned for condominiums. Two sections of the original Polytechnic High School building remain today: the girl's gym and the boy's gym.
