Fred Doig (born October 3 2006) is a suburban Melbourne cat, who is mostly just loved and adored by his owner. He lives with his owner in a cosy unit near Frankston, a Southern suburb of Melbourne.

Backround

Fred’s owner came to purchase him in late 2006, and she had a choice to take home Fred or one of his other two siblings, but Fred was the one who came up and gave a friendly look so the choice was made straight away. Fred was also neutered at a young age.

Personal Life

An average day for this well loved cat mainly consists of sleeping, eating, licking, looking, wondering and playing with his good friend Juke, from over the back fence.

He loves to watch TV with his owner, as long as he gets to sit on her lap. His favourite shows include: Home and Away, Judge Judy, All Saints, Everybody Loves Raymond, Ten News At Five (on cold winter evenings), A Current Affair, Today-Tonight, Big Cat Diary, Meer Cat Diary, RSPCA Animal Rescue, Upstairs Downstairs, Packed to the Rafters, Doc Martin, Doctor Harry, Headland.

In Fred’s home, everything revolves around him. He gets to make all the decisions regardless of what his owner wants. These decisions start from which cat food he gets, to which electricity supplier his owner gives the contract to.

Fred has got quiet a social life with his good friend Juke, a black and white cat from over the back fence. They mainly run around and chase each other round their backyards, but when they’ve had enough running around they like to settle down in a cosy spot at the back of Fred’s backyard and have a long conversation about cat-related issues.

Ever since Fred was a kitten, he has always liked getting in the way when people are trying to make beds, it’s always a good laugh when this happens because there aren’t many cats as friendly around, that’s why a lot of guests who come to stay know think of him as a ‘dog-like’ cat.
