Steven Zimberg using the alias Freedom2Choose graduated from Hillsdale College in Economics and Business Administration in 1977. There he studied Austrian Economics and Liberal Studies. He was an early pioneer and supporter of their Center For Constructive Alternatives (CCA) Lecture Series. He received his Paralegal Certification while at Hillsdale in Michigan's First gratuating class (1977). He is also among the nations first Fee-only Certified Financial Planners (1984), and is a 35 year licensed union electrician.

Zimberg began his career with Research Institute of America (1978), the world’s largest privately owned business advisory organization as district sales representative serving CPA’s, attorney’s and businesses in the areas of taxation and labor relations research. He is Founder and Chairman of Asset Advisory Services, Inc., a fee-only investment advisory firm specializing in financial planning and evaluating investments from an economic perspective, and Co-founder of Accurate DNA Testing, LLC, a DNA testing company.

Mr. Zimberg is a Board member of Life's Great!, a Michigan based company providing child and family advocacy resources to agencies around the world. In 2006 Zimberg was appointed Trustee for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 58 Pension and Annuity Funds with nearly a billion dollars in combined assets. Early in his career Zimberg was the Senior Vice President of Flexible Plan Investments in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan a money management firm also with about a billion dollars under management.

Mr. Zimberg was the lead paralegal in a legal case brought before the Michigan Supreme Court covering the doctrines of Open and Obvious, Constitutional Amendments, Duty to warn, negligence, special treatment of indigent people, and corruption by insurance companies, large corporations and courts, and what it’s like to lose.

Zimberg was the parliamentarian of the Legal Assistant Association of Michigan (LAAM), Vice President and Treasurer of the Michigan Association of Certified Financial Planners (MICFP), and advisory board member of Dad’s of Michigan, one of Michigan’s fastest growing non-profits.

Mr. Zimberg owns numerous websites including Societism.org and believes to have rediscovered and clarified the term Societism through his life philosophy and having taken steps to have it included in dictionaries and encyclopedias, including Wikipedia. He states;

"The leading constitutional phrase "we the people" referring to the rights of individuals to decide on the powers and limitations of government has become misconstrued over the generations because individual freedoms are not free - and the responsibility to limit government (and similar self-interests) from excess liberties neglected. Societism empowers individuals to work together to maintain a higher level of political influence, to keep these two extremes in balance. The result being a higher level of personal liberty and a prolonged harmonic society".

Zimberg is also recognized nationally through such noted publications as Barron’s Magazine, Money Magazine, Investor’s Weekly, Christian Science Monitor, Medical Economics, and many local newspapers on the subjects of financial and investment planning, economics, legal and political issues.
