I am a lawyer in private practice, specialising in international law. I received a lic. iur. (i.e., basic law) degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Basel, Switzerland. I worked in academia for a few years, as a research assistant. I then clerked for a court of general jurisdiction in Zurich, passed the Zurich bar exam (after many painful hours at the local library) and then went into private practice as an associate with the Zurich office of a national firm. In 2001, I moved to the United States, where I graduated with an LL.M. degree from NYU School of Law in 2002. After passing another painful bar exam, I entered private practice and worked with two international firms in New York before partnering with like-minded lawyers and opening my own firm. Surprisingly therefore, my primary Wikipedia interests are in law, international law (in the American, i.e., broad sense of that word) and comparative jurisprudence.
