Anyway, here at Wikipedia I primarily try to shorten the merger backlog page and perform the merger necessary. Sometimes, I'm merely looking for pages in the backlog that are easy to merge. It seems that someone needs to do it (the backlog is huge), and (probably) few others care to do the less important, less glamorous mergers. I'm not a fan of getting into edit wars or anything, so I tend to leave more controversial merger proposals alone.
