I am fairly new to Wikipedia. Once I discovered it, I use it constantly.

I made my first edit and had a strange feeling of terror. Almost as if I had taken a pen and marked in a library book. I have a web page PapaBear.biz where I keep funny articles, videos, and various things that interest me.

I want to start a process to abolish the usage of the term

“that is so gay”.

I may be just getting old but I find it very offensive and derogatory. When I first used the word Gay to describe myself, I felt empowered for the first time in my life. To have this word used as a way to describe something disgusting or stupid, huts. It would be like someone using your name to describe something gross. “oh that shirt is so Kathie”.

Roombas for those who can't UPDATE 2012: This project has now been filed in the once upon a time folder and is defunct.

I am working on a non profit project to give Roomba to people who are disabled and unable to clean their homes. The plan is to expand the project to provide anything that is needed to make lives a little easier. [update: as of dec 07 the project is defunct. I had plenty of people wanting to give money to help the project purchase the machines but not a single person expressed interest in getting a roomba. I realized that in my target geographic I am a rarity. Disabled tend to be much older than myself, avoid technology, or even know what a roomba is. To make the project work I would need to take the show on the road, so to speak, which put me in a delimma. I'm disabled and such a tour is out of my reach for the time being.]
