Mission Statement and General Information[edit]

Women In Film - Los Angeles is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women achieve their highest potential within the global entertainment, communications and media industries and to preserving the legacy of women within those industries.

Founded in 1973 by Tichi Wilkerson Kassel, Women In Film and its Women In Film Foundation provide for members an extensive network of contacts, educational programs, scholarships, film finishing funds and grants, access to employment opportunities, mentorships and numerous practical services in support of this mission. The President of Women in Film 2011 is Cathy Schulman. The Executive Director is Gayle Nachlis and the controller is David Kay.

Women in Film - Los Angeles is the founding chapter of the umbrella organization Women in Film and Television International. The office is currently located at 6100 Wilshire Blvd. Suite 710, Los Angeles, CA 90048

Programs[edit]

WIF LA has several programs for its members ranging from Competitions, Independent Film Series, Internships, Master Classes, Mentoring, Networking Breakfasts, PSA Production Programs, Scholarships, Speaker Series, Screenings, International committee, Television & Media Committee, Music Committee, Master Classes and Workshops.

Events[edit]

During the year WIF hosts several high profile events for its members including the Crystal + Lucy Awards , events honoring female nominees for the Oscars (R) and the Emmys(R), the Malibu Golf Classic, Sundance and a Career Rehab Workshop.
