Gabrielle Palandy born March 26th, 1994 as Whitney Gabrielle Murray is a striving Trinidadian singer/song writer who recently came back on the music scene with her newest single “Follow No Leader” produced by Jagsey. She derived the name Palandy from her late grandmother Claudette Palandy and formed her sobriquet. It was important to her to use Palandy no only to distinguish which Gabrielle she is but also to keep the name alive since the only people carrying on Palandy is her two uncles and their two sons of which they are said to be the only Palandy in Trinidad. It is said that the Palandy women have either took on their dad's surname or their spouse's lastname. Ms Palandy has recently been interviewed at Wack 90.1fm where she released this said single on air. In the past Gabrielle decided to take some time away since her last single “Lunacy" from three years ago which has given her some exposure on the radio stations. The singer explained to supporters that she took a break to complete her studies at Costaatt in Accounting. Ms. Palandy first came out with a pop, dancehall fusion called “Forever” produced by swagga kid production back in 2017 which was the first song that gained her interviews at Wack 90.1fm, Street 91.9fm and Power 102fm. She then followed up with her soca single “Lunacy” in that same year for 2018 soca, releasing it at Wack 90.1 fm and on Julians promo which gave the songs quite some exposure. These opportunities gained her an interview at OMG magazine where she was able to discuss more about herself and past upcoming events. The singer/ songwriter was born and raised in south Trinidad and lived most of her years in San Fernando. She has always loved visual and performing arts growing up as she has been involved in professional dancing most of her years from around age 7 and believed she could reign in music some day as she grew up looking at 106mpark. Gabrielle has been doing music since the age of 15 years old and was mentored by one of her then music influence KMC (Ken Marlon Charles). He encouraged her to focus on pop music and since then her music has always had a pop swing to it no matter the genre. Ms Palandy’s music now especially can be described as relatable, truthful, fun and sometimes very powerful according to the message in her musical content with a slightly jazzy, classical or calypso feel to it at times especially with her new playlist of songs patiently waiting to be released over time. This artist have managed to show versatility and potential in her craft on her new playlist of songs which she begins her first release with “Follow No leader,” being a more spiritual song especially geared towards traditional spiritual communities in Trinidad and Tobago in her upcoming music video.
