The International Investigative Interviewing Research Group (iIIRG) (www.iiirg.org) was established in 2007. It's aim was, and still is, to forge mutual relationships between academic researchers and law enforcement practitioners. Much of what police and law enforcement agencies do worldwide has been seriously helped by psychological and criminological research. So how does the iIIRG work? Well, it is a group run and maintained by it's elected Executive Committee who perform the day-to-day tasks of the group, currently Chaired and Directed by its co-founder, Gavin E. Oxburgh, Ph.D, a UK Forensic Psychologist and ex-military police officer. The Scientific Committee, who assist the Executive Committee in all scientific and research-related matters, are invited to join by its current Chair, Professor Martine Powell from Deakin University, Australia. Once joined, members have access to its own journal, Investigative Interviewing: Research and Practice plus they have full access to the member database from which they can forge research collaborations
