Georgina Masson (1912–1980) is the pen name of British author[1] and photographer Marion Johnson. Known as "Babs" to her friends,
she spent significant time studying Roman and Italian architecture, with a keen interest in villas and gardens.
Upon her death in 1980, she bequeathed her entire collection of 5,000 negatives to the American Academy in Rome.
A Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, she travelled extensively and traveled throughout Italy often accompanied only by her
