[edit]

McLoughlin (mick-LOCK-lin) assumed his current role in Seattle's sports teams replacing good friend Tod Leiweke, who moved from Seattle to the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning to become chief executive officer and part-owner. [2]

In his two seasons, he has seen his clubs continue to sell out every home game with a season-ticket base of more than 92,000. [3] The Seahawks won the 2010 NFC West in his first season while the Sounders FC have made two postseason MLS appearances and won the U.S. Open Cup for consecutive years.

McLoughlin also negotiated a stadium naming rights partnership extension with CenturyLink and a new multi-year partnership with Anheuser-Busch, while continuing a stadium initiative for stadium sustainability by installing solar panels on the roof of CenturyLink Field Event Center which will reduce annual utility costs by 21%. [4][5]

St. Louis

[edit]

McLoughlin served as chief executive officer of the St. Louis Blues Enterprises from 2006-10. In this time, he was in charge of all non-hockey operations, including finance, ticket sales, marketing and new business development. He was the head figure in bringing in Scottrade to sign for the naming rights of the hockey arena and spearheaded several successful ticketing campaigns leading to 64 sellouts in two seasons compared to three in the previous two seasons. [6]

Early Experience

[edit]

Prior to his time leading sports franchises, McLoughlin worked for 21 years in a variety of roles for Anheuser-Busch. From 1998-2006 he was the VP/Corporate Media, ensuring that the company had product exclusivity in 15 Super Bowls, 10 Olympics and a dominant presence in MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, NCAA and World Cup telecasts. [7][8]

He began his career at NBC Sports.

McLoughlin graduated from Harvard University with a degree in english literature.[9] He is married to wife, Kelly, and the couple has five children. [10]
