Vintage style (or Junk style) is an interior design approach using second hand or vintage items.

Variations of this are bazaar style which contains an eclectic mixture of vintage items and other second hand furniture and cloth from different fashion eras.[1] Part of the concept is to avoid purchasing mass-produced or new items. Every day objects that are stored for daily use can be displayed, enabling their design and beauty to be appreciated. Used furniture can be restored by repainting, or reupholstering. The variety of different fabrics and shapes used prevents one style from dominating.

Shabby chic style in contrast will utilise new artificially distressed furniture and soft pastel tones of cream pink, pale blue or green.[2]

Rustic style involves rough unfinished timber and logs. Junk style uses items manufactured from junk, such as packing cases or pallets.
