SWAT started out with only two members, Finn and Marcus, in the summer of 2010 in a garage in Mystic CT. The 3 original members was Finn, Marcus, and Owen Sullivan. They preformed for a small crowd for a talent show. Later that fall, Owen left to go back to his home in New York so the band was left with Marcus and Finn switching between guitar and drums. They played two house shows for 4 or 5 people in Marcus Living room for friends and family. It was slow and quiet for the band for a while. In January of 2012, Ben Holmgren joined the band as the drummer. He was taught how to play drums by the other 2 members in less than a day. They played a small house show on February 11th, 2012. A classmate of Marcus' named, Stephen Russo, was watching and really wanted to join the band. He knew how to play guitar but their wasn't a spot open for him to play it because neither Marcus or Finn wanted to play bass. So later that month, Stephen joined the band as the first real bass player for the band. He taught himself how to play bass and became a great member to the team. In April, they had their first concert with the new and current line up at The Workshop in downtown Mystic for 50 people. Thats when they knew that this was going to be something that they would be doing for a long time. SWAT played one show at Marcus' house once again for a friends birthday party but then was quiet for a few months. They released a music video that they filmed their self titled "Monkey Man." The video got 500 views on YouTube and 11 likes and it was big for the band. They wrote a ton of songs including: Hello!, Halloween Pt ii, Stupid Dumb Whatever, Goodbye, Pay Attention, and Growing up. On August 25th, 2012. SWAT played at The Workshop for 60 people and had a band called Days of Season come down and play with them. That night they played a lot of New Songs and really got their sound. They started to get some shows outside Mystic with some pretty well known bands. On September 28th, They went up to New Haven to guest in a tour called the All In This Together Tour with bands like Logan's Run, Angry Bears, Audiostobelight, Above the Underground, and On My Honor. Then they played several concerts and soon came out with Frenemies!
