BOT=STOP
tagbot modifies template {{Unreferenced}} to include |status=hasaref if it detects the template might no longer be needed i.e. an article has references. Templates with |status=hasaref are added to tracking Category:All articles possibly lacking sources.
This page triggers a bot to search for and tag up to 20 candidate articles per request.
Usage[edit]
- To run, change
STOPtoRUN #where "#" is how many articles to tag. Default: 5 Max: 20
- Example:
BOT=RUN 2will tag 2 pages
- Example:
- The bot monitors this page every 2 minutes.
- When a
RUNis detected the bot begins searching and tagging. - When finished, the bot resets this page back to
STOP - Tagged pages are listed in tracking category Category:All articles possibly lacking sources
- After an article has been added to the tracking category, editors inspect the article and remove
{{Unreferenced}}if it is determined it is no longer needed. Or replace with other tags such as{{Refimprove}}. If the bot made a mistake, change|status=hasrefto|status=nobotand the bot will in the future leave the article alone.
System info[edit]
- The tracking category must have 5 or less before the bot will
RUN. - The requester's username is included in edit summaries.
- Once the bot is running it can not stop by setting
BOT=STOP. - If it seems like the bot is stuck in
BOT=RUNcontact User:GreenC - If the page is edited to anything other than
BOT=STOPorBOT=RUN(vandalism or mistake) the bot resets the page back toBOT=STOP.
