'2007 Grimthorpe Galaxy' - founded Monday 15th October 2007.

2007 Grimthorpe Galaxy are probably the world's most famous 5 a Side Football team. They currently play in Division 4 of The Goals Leeds Sunday Night League. They are more commonly known as The Galaxy or Team Galaxy.

Their most famous players are Joe "Giuseppe" Atkinson, who served as the club captain before his horrific career ending knee injury, and David Andrew Peel, the current captain. Both are unashamed "club-men" and their names are synonymous with The Galaxy. They are also both known for their use of hairbands whilst playing football.

Atkinson was a fearless central midfielder, in the mould of Robbie Savage, Gennaro Gattuso and Robbie Stockdale. Tragedy struck during The Galaxy's last season however, Atkinson tore his ACL, bringing his career to a premature end. Atkinson showed his fortitude by asking to come back on after treatment, though Director Of Football Sarah-Cate Gill would not allow it.

Atkinson is sometimes known as "Top Man ****", as this was an insult handed out to him after pole-axing an opponent. Atkinson has no idea what this means.

It is hoped Joe will be able to take part in a Testimonial match at some point in the future.

David Andrew Peel is well known in football circles for being "a wind up merchant". He has often been criticised for "not knowing when to shut up", and this has led to several controversial episodes on the pitch. However, when it comes to doing the business, David delivers, and has been compared to Fabrizio Ravanelli, amongst other players . He is Team Galaxy's all time appearance holder and leading goalscorer.

The Galaxy have been fairly reliant on loan signings as of late, with Chris Rivers making several appearances for the club. He is well liked by the club's fans, and a full time contract looks likely to be offered to both him and Goalkeeper Aban Quaynor.

It is thought The Galaxy's demise is due to them not having a settled squad. However, with several astute captures, it surely cannot be long before they are amongst the elite once more.
