The 1937 Labour Riots also known as the 1937 Labour Revolution[1] or the Butler Riots was a period of unrest in Trinidad and Tobago driven by low wages, especially in oilfields, led by Tubal Uriah Butler. The unrest brought Butler and Adrian Cola Rienzi to the forefront of the labour movement and led to the foundation of the Oilfields Workers' Trade Union.
