Lokendra Gurjar is the esteemed founder and Chairman of the Backward Classes Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BICCI) and the Jagat Foundation. Known for his dedication to social service and the upliftment of deprived classes, Lokendra has made significant strides in various initiatives aimed at bettering society.

Hailing from the backward region of Chambal in Madhya Pradesh, Lokendra’s sensitivity and empathy have driven his lifelong commitment to social work, a passion inspired by his parents’ deeds. His early involvement with the Scout Guide demonstrated his zeal for helping the needy, earning him recognition from the district collector for his selfless service during a medical camp in Bhind.

Lokendra’s mission centers on empowering the poor and needy to improve their lives for a brighter future. He has led awareness campaigns across the Gwalior-Chambal division, tackling social evils such as dowry, death feasts, alcohol, and other intoxicants. His efforts have resulted in significant social changes, including self-imposed liquor bans, the avoidance of death feasts, and the rejection of the dowry system in many districts of Madhya Pradesh.

Particularly noteworthy is the transformation within the Gurjar community in the Gwalior-Chambal division and neighboring areas of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. These communities have ceased alcohol consumption, rejected dowries, reduced extravagant wedding expenses, and stopped performing death ceremonies.

Understanding the importance of family, Lokendra champions the cause of treating parents and guardians with respect. He has distributed around 300,000 copies of the book “Mahima Mata Pita Ki” across India to promote this message. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he provided essential supplies such as ration, medicine, clothes, and other necessities to thousands of poor families.

Lokendra’s ongoing efforts include educating children who work for their livelihood, distributing sanitary pads to deprived women to prevent infections and diseases, and serving the elderly by visiting old age homes. His primary objective is to uplift the living standards of deprived masses and make them self-reliant, contributing to the vision of nation-building.

In addition to his roles with BICCI and the Jagat Foundation, Lokendra serves as the patron of the Government Ayurvedic Homeopathic Employees Association and the Polytechnic Guest Lecturer Association, and as president of the OBC-SC-ST Ekta Manch. His tireless dedication continues to inspire and impact countless lives, fostering a more equitable and compassionate society
