- Am fortunate to have a home that is a stopping point for these little visitors.
The butterfly at right is the Gulf fritillary a species whose wing-span is an average of 3+ inches and are particularly attracted to the Passion flowers and vines that grow in the various coastal regions of northern California, including my back yard. -- The butterfly below left, 'the Tiger' is only about the size of a US quarter, yet the detail within its humble confines is perhaps one of life's little miracles.
