My pride, my town Okahao

Okahao is a town located in Omusati region in the northern part of Namibia It’s found in the westerner of Oshakati , which approximately 75 km from Oshakati town. Okahao it’s a second competitive advantage following Outapi town in Omusati region. The mayor of Okahao is honorable Isai David Uuzambala,who became a major in 2009 and re-elected on the 6th of December 2011 and won again his position. Contents

History background

The name called Okahao means small, and this place named Okahao because it’s small. In it was a village before town; it was only a village for Ongandjera king’s family. It was also where the center of the Finish Missionary (ELCIN) which was the first based in Ongandjera traditional district.

Education

There are currently only two higher schools in Okahao town, Etalaleko senior secondary school and Shaanika Nashilongo Senior Secondary School. There are two Primary School and one junior school which is Onangobe Junior Secondary School.

Infrastructure

Okahao has a hospital in which most people around Ongandjera get their treatment when they are sick, a prisoner were people locked when commit crime, there is also community library in which learners and community go find books and study.
