Herb Gullberg (b.February 7, 1957-) born in Bridgeport, Connecticut nicknamed 'Butch" from birth and known by many by his nickname Actual name-Herbert Theodore Gullberg III born to Herbert T. Gullberg Jr. and Lorraine (Von Briesen) Gullberg

Herb was involved in street gangs as a teenager and young adult. He was exposed to violence, drugs, and alcohol, however after the birth of his first son, Herb IV, when he was 24(1981), Herb made a dramatic life change due to what is described as a spiritual experience. He changed his lifestyle and became a Little League coach for 4 years, a Bridgeport Police Officer and excelled for some time as an officer in the most violent areas of the city. He went on to have 3 more sons and helped many people recover to a new and clean way of life. He later, however, struggled with drugs again for a brief time, relapsing once again into addiction, and left the Police Department voluntarily because of this relapse. He once again recovered after the death of his 1st born son, Herb IV, whose birth had first inspired him to change his life. Herb Attended Housatonic Community College in his 40's and graduated with an Associate of Science Degree and Phi Theta kappa Honors. He was immediatley accepted into Fairfield University, Fairfield Connecticut, a Jesuit Highly accredited University.

   He left Fairfield University in 2009.  His primary concentration of studies were American, English,and Irish Literature as well as Shakespeare and Creative Writing.

He studied in the Writers Workshop of Fairfield for 4 years and began to write poetry and short stories. He has been published in Images, a literary magazine. Some poems:

Herb is now working on a novel of the Creative Fiction genre and has spoken with publicists. He lives alone with his cat in Stratford, Connecticut. He has two grand-daughters and claims he is still waiting for the "right woman" to share the rest of his life with.
