Jeffrey L. Price is an American scientist who specializes in chronobiology[1]. He is currently an associate professor in School of Biological professor at University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). [2]
In Drosophila, posttranscriptional regulatory mechanism was suggested by the observation that translation delayed ~6 hours from the transcription. Price’s lab contributed to the isolation of doubletime mutations (DBT) which either shorten or lengthen the period of circadian rhythms. His research team cloned the dbt gene that encodes the kinase orthologue. His work provided the first insight on a clock component that contributes to the phosphorylation of PER. Now his lab is investigating the role of this protein kinase in both Drosophila and vertebrate clocks. Jeffrey L. Price doesn’t have a wiki page and it’s definitely worth to make one.
