This webpage was created to help graduate students in the Microbiology program at Washington University in St Louis prepare for their qualifying exam. Its purpose is to create a central location for sharing resources and ideas about the papers assigned.

I hope that each paper will get its own page in Wiki. I'm guessing the one person will be a leader for each paper but that everyone will contribute background and ideas to each others' articles.

to make a page:

type http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MicroQEWUSTL_paper# (whatever number you are doing, or a name if you prefer) into your browser address bar then you click "Start the MicroQEWUSTL paper# article" the next screen will give you a text box at the bottom that you just type into. You can make the text bold or italics, create links, etc. when you are done you click "save page"

you'll also want to then create a link from the main page to paper# (and vice versa if you want) to do that you type paper # bracket bracket MicroQEWUSTL_paper# close bracket close bracket

and the link from page paper4 to the main page main page bracket bracket MicroQEWUSTL close bracket close bracket

to create an external (non-wikipedia) link you type bracket http://www.example.org link title close bracket
