Harley Root started his music career as an independent drummer for a wide variety of bands and song writers as a touring performer and often times a session player throughout a span over 15 years. Before he was of age to meet local musician union requirements he was running sound designs and front of house mixes for many regional groups and began his long journey of live mixing and studio work at 17. By the time he was 19 Harley was a sought out drummer and experienced recording engineer leaving his mark of professionalism on more than 30 projects and groups that he had been involved with or contracted too. At 22 years old he wrote his first two songs that where both recorded and published through Blue Haven Records with a band he was drumming for at the time until it ended in 2001. At that time Harley began writing and recording the songs for the Gods Nature album that became his first fully involved personal project that tied together his song writing, musician talents, and engineer skills. The album was a great success and was received by the critiques as a new fresh sound for contemporary christian music. Later that year in september harley survived an aortic bleed and stroke that changed his life, his mind, his body, his physical abilities and his memory of anything that predated the event. Harley awoke with a new sense of life and its ability to take away all that made him who he was. After making a physical recovery through months of slow life training it was obvious to all that knew him that the music never died. Harley stayed close to home over the next 7 years playing as a drummer with Uninvited Guest and Joining his friends on the road in Texas with Clobberbomb as his original music outlet. After spending many years honing his engineer and production crafts he set out to produce albums for Rockers, Rappers, Country artists, christian artists and many singer song writers to help other musicians develop there talents and music. Harleys love for people and especially people that are artistic fueled his passion to help local and regional musicians and writers turn there ideas and dreams into a tangible art form that could be introduced to the masses. In 2008 Harley started Undercover Productions and built a community of musicians and writers that maintained a steady impact and presence on the local scene. After launching his recording studio in 2009 harley spent the year producing albums for 35 projects including Tiranico, Sarah Fitch, Mourning Tree, Cha City, Leaving 99, Love in the Afterlife, the Sale outs, Big D, Spoony G, Slick, No Way, Eulogy, Saturday Knight, and many others all the while writing country songs for nashville as an independent writer. 9 of the Artists Harley produced and engineered received over 12 nominations for Abbot awards in his first attempt as a full on producer in that year alone. In 2010 Harley was also finishing up his run as the lead singer and songwriter for the popular rock band Carvolue and was ready to put all of his experience, tools, talents, and connections together to begin the journey you are about to hear. Harley Roots' debut album "Letters" will be released in August of 2011 and will display his raw talent for writing meaningful lyrics and melodic vocal lines that reveal the true depth of his life's journey. He began the writing process lyrically, covering all the topics of love, loss, life, faith and change. To be sure the listener would recognize that this isn't just another "rock band" album, harley gave special attention to detail to the moods and vibe of the over all collection of work that the music and stories evoked. Harley writes from a part of his heart and imagination that otherwise would stay locked up in his creative world to share with us all the beautiful colours of the mostly hidden spectrum of art through music. These songs are for his friends and family and for his personal healing to validate all that has been lost, sacrificed, or taken away by the one thing that never died in his heart. His music. The Letters album is a work he is especially proud of and looks forward to sharing with you all. Harley loves people first, so its no wonder that anyone that meets him becomes a friend before they ever even know about the music. Letters is for you. With out your love, friendship, encouragement, and your own brilliant personalities, harley would have nothing to sing about. You are the reason new songs get written everyday so please introduce yourself to him and see if your kindness doesn't spark the next song that becomes your favorite song.
